A whisper travels on the breeze, a tale spun from sugary lies and acrimonious truths. It speaks of a flow, its waters glinting with the promise of intoxication. But within its depths lurks a darkness, a seductive lure that promises wealth at the cost of souls. They say those who drown in its current are forever consumed by the river's hold, their lives forever corrupted into a tragic melody.
When the Tanks Burst
On January 15th, 1919, Boston witnessed a disaster unlike any other. A massive tank here filled with that thick sweet nectar burst open in the city's North End, unleashing a wave of sticky sweetness that raged through the streets like a tsunami. The flood, reaching heights 25 feet in some areas, was catastrophic. Structures succumbed under the weight of the treacherous goo.
The aftermath was grim. Twenty-one people lost their lives, and many more sustained wounds. The flood also caused ruin to property, leaving a trail of sweet devastation in its wake.
